recruitment of actuaries and actuarial students around
the world. All our consultants are actuaries or part-qualified
actuaries so have a good understanding of the nature
of the actuarial industry. We focus mainly on contingency
recruitment (that is, we only charge a fee in the event
of a successful appointment) and we have a simple and
competitive fee structure with a three month 100% rebate.
Quantum Selection takes a global village approach
to the actuarial job market and attracts candidates
from throughout the world. We appreciate the need to
recruit locally in most instances and always focus
our initial attention on local candidates or locals
working abroad and now interested in returning home.
Sometimes it is necessary to consider overseas actuaries
and Quantum Selection is very experienced in the area
of international actuarial recruitment. This means
we can support you through the whole process, from
suggestions on arranging interviews to negotiations
on package.
Our consultants work very flexible hours in order
to communicate with you during your country’s
office hours as well as candidates out of their office
hours in various locations. We also regularly travel
around the world in order to facilitate meeting with
you to discuss your requirements and expectations.
PROCESS
We will first work with you to devise a detailed job
specification. We need as much information as possible,
not only to make suitable skills matches, but also
to attract the best candidates. We also have a secure
facility if you prefer to upload your vacancies directly
to our website. At this stage we also identify any
difficulties facing the current local market so we
can work together towards alleviating these.
We compile a shortlist of actuaries and students with
suitable skills, knowledge and experience by sourcing
in a number of ways appropriate to contingency search.

which has been built up through almost ten years of
communicating with actuaries and actuarial students
around the world. |
| We include your vacancy on our website and place
advertisements in other relevant e-mail, web and published
media. |
| We do not usually headhunt, but we do at times handle
direct candidate approaches for a very specific requirement
or where you want a confidential approach a candidate. |
We then discuss your requirement with the shortlisted
candidates to determine their interest and also understand
their expectations. If the candidate is suitable AND
interested in the job, we proceed with an application,
comprising the CV and our own covering report containing
supplementary information. You can be confident that
any application we send has been explicitly authorised
by the candidate prior to being made.
For those candidates you select, we will support you
throughout the interview process and arrangements.
Following all interviews, we discuss first impressions
with both the candidate and yourself, as this is an
important part in managing expectations and developing
the ongoing relationship for both parties. Should all
parties be interested in taking matters further, we
advise you through the delicate processes of the offer
and any subsequent discussions. If not, the interview
feedback helps us to understand what is not going to
work!
Our service does not end on the day a successful actuary
or actuarial student begins his job. We are always
available to provide ongoing advice on any actuarial
recruitment matters.
